PayPal Music Strategy

We pivoted PayPal’s strategy for its experiential debut from sports to music to drive a deeper emotional connection with consumers.

The relationship we forged with Superfly — creators of Outside Lands and Bonnaroo — gave PayPal a budget-friendly entrée into landmark, innovation-driven festivals: our canvas for transforming brand behavior and perception.

Activations put consumers at the center with helpful amenities like secure storage, a (non-profit) convenience store and line-free vending via app, empowering PayPal to make an awesome cultural experience even better.

  • By not only aligning with Gen Y’s passion for music but also alleviating the pain points experienced at festivals, we transformed PayPal into our target’s welcomed ally for enjoying the events they love most.
